Jose Paolo Bernardo, a Senior ICT Associate from the University Computer Center, received the 2021 Utak Award at the Parangal at Pagkakilala para sa mga Kawani at Retirado ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas 2021, a yearly ceremony conducted by the campus recognizing past and present employees, researchers and faculty for their exemplary services to the University.
The award recognizes an individual’s “significant contribution to the unit by introducing a new system/process/procedure in the workplace that results in the efficient delivery of service.” Mr. Bernardo was heavily involved in the development of COSPay, a customized software system that helps speed up the compensation of non-UP Contractuals in the campus.
Also known as the Natatanging Galing, Utak, Puso at Dangal ng UPD Awards, they are aligned with the Civil Service Commission’s Hero and Public Servant Honor and Awards Program. The Utak Award – Pagkilala sa Natatanging Inobasyon at Tuklas Tipid, was introduced for the first time this year.
The ceremony was held online last July 23, 2022.
